Problem 1

For a prime pp of the form 12k+112k+1 and Zp={0,1,2,⋯ ,p−1}\mathbb{Z}_p=\{0,1,2,\cdots,p-1\} , let Ep={(a,b)∣a,b∈Zp,p∤4a3+27b2}\mathbb{E}_p=\{(a,b) \mid a,b \in \mathbb{Z}_p, p\nmid 4a^3+27b^2\} For (a,b),(a′,b′)∈Ep(a,b), (a',b') \in \mathbb{E}_p we say that (a,b)(a,b) and (a′,b′)(a',b') are equivalent if there is a non zero element c∈Zpc\in \mathbb{Z}_p such that p∣(a′−ac4)p\mid (a' -ac^4) and p∣(b′−bc6)p\mid (b'-bc^6) . Find the maximal number of inequivalent elements in Ep\mathbb{E}_p .

Problem 2

Find all functions f:R→Rf:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R} satisfying f(x−y)=f(x)+xy+f(y)f(x-y)=f(x)+xy+f(y) for every x∈Rx \in \mathbb{R} and every y∈{f(x)∣x∈R}y \in \{f(x) \mid x\in \mathbb{R}\} , where R\mathbb{R} is the set of real numbers.

Problem 3

The following facts are known in a mathematical contest:
(a) The number of problems tested was n≥4n\ge 4 (b) Each problem was solved by exactly four contestants. (c) For each pair of problems, there is exactly one contestant who solved both problems
Assuming the number of contestants is greater than or equal to 4n4n , find the minimum value of nn for which there always exists a contestant who solved all the problems.

Problem 4

For n≥3n \ge 3 , let S=a1+a2+⋯+anS=a_1+a_2+\cdots+a_n and T=b1b2⋯bnT=b_1b_2\cdots b_n for positive real numbers a1,a2,…,an,b1,b2,…,bna_1,a_2,\ldots,a_n, b_1,b_2 ,\ldots,b_n , where the numbers bib_i are pairwise distinct.

(a) Find the number of distinct real zeroes of the polynomial f(x)=(x−b1)(x−b2)⋯(x−bn)∑j=1najx−bjf(x)=(x-b_1)(x-b_2)\cdots(x-b_n)\sum_{j=1}^n \frac{a_j}{x-b_j} (b) Prove the inequality 1n−1∑j=1n(1−ajS)bj>(TS∑j=1najbj)1n−1\frac1{n-1}\sum_{j=1}^n \left(1-\frac{a_j}{S}\right)b_j > \left(\frac{T}{S}\sum_{j=1}^{n} \frac{a_j}{b_j}\right)^{\frac1{n-1}}

Problem 5

Let ABCABC be an acute triangle and let ω\omega be its circumcircle. Let the perpendicular line from AA to BCBC meet ω\omega at DD . Let PP be a point on ω\omega , and let QQ be the foot of the perpendicular line from PP to the line ABAB . Prove that if QQ is on the outside of ω\omega and 2∠QPB=∠PBC2\angle QPB = \angle PBC , then D,P,QD,P,Q are collinear.

Problem 6

Let pnp_n be the nthn^{\text{th}} prime counting from the smallest prime 22 in increasing order. For example, p1=2,p2=3,p3=5,⋯p_1=2, p_2=3, p_3 =5, \cdots (a) For a given n≥10n \ge 10 , let rr be the smallest integer satisfying 2≤r≤n−2,n−r+1<pr2\le r \le n-2, n-r+1 < p_r and define Ns=(sp1p2⋯pr−1)−1N_s=(sp_1p_2\cdots p_{r-1})-1 for s=1,2,…,prs=1,2,\ldots, p_r . Prove that there exists j,1≤j≤prj, 1\le j \le p_r , such that none of p1,p2,⋯ ,pnp_1,p_2,\cdots, p_n divides NjN_j .

(b) Using the result of (a), find all positive integers mm for which pm+12<p1p2⋯pmp_{m+1}^2 < p_1p_2\cdots p_m
