Problem 1

A graph GG has n+kn + k vertices. Let AA be a subset of nn vertices of the graph GG , and BB be a subset of other kk vertices. Each vertex of AA is joined to at least k−pk - p vertices of BB . Prove that if np<knp < k then there is a vertex in BB that can be joined to all vertices of AA .

Problem 2

Find all real xx such that 0<x<π0 < x < \pi and 83sinx−sin3x+3sin2x≤5\frac{8}{3 sin x - sin 3x} + 3 sin^2x \le 5 .

Problem 3

Consider x1>0,y1>0,x2<0,y2>0,x3<0,y3<0,x4>0,y4<0.x_1 > 0, y_1 > 0, x_2 < 0, y_2 > 0, x_3 < 0, y_3 < 0, x_4 > 0, y_4 < 0. Suppose that for each i=1,...,4i = 1, ... ,4 we have (xi−a)2+(yi−b)2≤c2(x_i -a)^2 +(y_i -b)^2 \le c^2 . Prove that a2+b2<c2a^2 + b^2 < c^2 . Restate this fact in the form of geometric result in plane geometry.

Problem 4

Two circles centers OO and O′O' , radii RR and R′R' , meet at two points. A variable line LL meets the circles at A,C,B,DA, C, B, D in that order and ACAD=CBBD\frac{AC}{AD} = \frac{CB}{BD} . The perpendiculars from OO and O′O' to LL have feet HH and H′H' . Find the locus of HH and H′H' . If OO′2<R2+R′2OO'^2 < R^2 + R'^2 , find a point PP on LL such that PO+PO′PO + PO' has the smallest possible value. Show that this value does not depend on the position of LL . Comment on the case OO′2>R2+R′2OO'^2 > R^2 + R'^2 .
