Problem 1

A sequence (an)(a_{n}) of positive integers is given by an=[n+n+12]a_{n}=[n+\sqrt{n}+\frac{1}{2}] . Find all of positive integers which belong to the sequence.

Problem 2

Let EE and FF are distinct points on the diagonal ACAC of a parallelogram ABCDABCD . Prove that , if there exists a cricle through E,FE,F tangent to rays BA,BCBA,BC then there also exists a cricle through E,FE,F tangent to rays DA,DCDA,DC .

Problem 3

Find all x,y,z∈N0x,y,z\in\mathbb{N}_{0} such that 7x+1=3y+5z7^{x} + 1 = 3^{y} + 5^{z} .

Alternative formulation: Solve the equation 1+7x=3y+5z1+7^{x}=3^{y}+5^{z} in nonnegative integers xx , yy , zz .

Problem 4

In the Cartesian plane, let CC be a unit circle with center at origin OO . For any point QQ in the plane distinct from OO , define Q′Q' to be the intersection of the ray OQOQ and the circle CC . Prove that for any P∈CP\in C and any k∈Nk\in\mathbb{N} there exists a lattice point Q(x,y)Q(x,y) with ∣x∣=k|x|=k or ∣y∣=k|y|=k such that PQ′<12kPQ'<\frac{1}{2k} .

Problem 5

Assume A={a1,a2,...,a12}A=\{a_{1},a_{2},...,a_{12}\} is a set of positive integers such that for each positive integer n≤2500n \leq 2500 there is a subset SS of AA whose sum of elements is nn . If a1<a2<...<a12a_{1}<a_{2}<...<a_{12} , what is the smallest possible value of a1a_{1} ?
