RMM 2011 Problem 3

  • Day 1

A triangle ABCA B C is inscribed in a circle ω\omega. A variable line ℓ\ell chosen parallel to BCB C meets segments ABA B, ACA C at points D,ED, E respectively, and meets ω\omega at points K,LK, L (where DD lies between KK and EE ). Circle γ1\gamma_{1} is tangent to the segments KDK D and BDB D and also tangent to ω\omega, while circle γ2\gamma_{2} is tangent to the segments LEL E and CEC E and also tangent to ω\omega. Determine the locus, as ℓ\ell varies, of the meeting point of the common inner tangents to γ1\gamma_{1} and γ2\gamma_{2}. (Russia) VASily Mokin & Fedor IvLev
