Problem 1

Given is a triangle ABCABC , ∠C=60o\angle C = 60^o , RR the midpoint of side ABAB . There exist a point PP on the line BCBC and a point QQ on the line ACAC such that the perimeter of the triangle PQRPQR is minimal. a) Prove that and also indicate how the points PP and QQ can be constructed. b) If AB=cAB = c , AC=bAC = b , BC=aBC = a , then prove that the perimeter of the triangle PQRPQR equals 123c2+6ab\frac12\sqrt{3c^2+6ab} .

Problem 2

Prove that for every n∈Nn \in N there exists exactly one sequence of 2n+12n + 1 consecutive numbers, such that the sum of the squares of the first n+1n+1 numbers is equal to the sum of the squares of the last nn numbers. Also express the smallest number of that sequence in terms of nn .

Problem 3

The angles AA and BB of base of the isosceles triangle ABCABC are equal to 40o40^o . Inside △ABC\vartriangle ABC , PP is such that ∠PAB=30o\angle PAB = 30^o and ∠PBA=20o\angle PBA = 20^o . Calculate, without table, ∠PCA\angle PCA .

Problem 4

We have an infinite sequence of real numbers x0,x1,x2,...x_0,x_1, x_2, ... such that xn+1=xn−14x_{n+1} = \sqrt{x_n -\frac14} holds for all natural nn and moreover x0∈12x_0 \in \frac12 . (a) Prove that for every natural nn holds: xn>12x_n > \frac12 (b) Prove that lim⁡n→∞xn\lim_{n \to \infty} x_n exists. Calculate this limit.

Problem 5

An infinite sequence of integers a1,a2,a3,...a_1,a_2,a_3, ... is given with a1=0a_1 = 0 and further holds for every natural number nn that an+1=an−na_{n+1} = a_n - n if an≥na_n \ge n and an+1=an+na_{n+1} = a_n + n if an<na_n < n . (a) Prove that there are infinitely many numbers in the sequence equal to 00 . (b) Express in terms of kk the ordinal number of the kek^e number from the sequence, which is equal to 00 .
