Other problems

Problem 1

A circle CC touches three pairwise disjoint circles whose centers are collinear and none of which contains any of the others. Show that its radius must be larger than the radius of the middle of the three circles.

Problem 2

Show that if we choose any n+2n + 2 distinct numbers from the set {1,2,3,...,3n}\{1, 2, 3, . . . , 3n\} there will be two whose difference is greater than nn and smaller than 2n2n .

Problem 3

ABCABC is a triangle. The point A' lies on the side opposite to AA and BA′/BC=kBA'/BC = k , where 1/2<k<11/2 < k < 1 . Similarly, B′B' lies on the side opposite to BB with CB′/CA=kCB'/CA = k , and C′C' lies on the side opposite to CC with AC′/AB=kAC'/AB = k . Show that the perimeter of A′B′C′A'B'C' is less than kk times the perimeter of ABCABC .
