Other problems

Problem 1

Since this is already 3 PM (GMT +7) in Jakarta, might as well post the problem here.

Problem 1. Given an acute triangle ABCABC and the point DD on segment BCBC . Circle c1c_1 passes through A,DA, D and its centre lies on ACAC . Whereas circle c2c_2 passes through A,DA, D and its centre lies on ABAB . Let P≠AP \neq A be the intersection of c1c_1 with ABAB and Q≠AQ \neq A be the intersection of c2c_2 with ACAC . Prove that ADAD bisects ∠PDQ\angle{PDQ} .

Problem 2

Let P(x)=ax2+bx+cP(x) = ax^2 + bx + c where a,b,ca, b, c are real numbers. If P(a)=bc,P(b)=ac,P(c)=abP(a) = bc, \hspace{0.5cm} P(b) = ac, \hspace{0.5cm} P(c) = ab then prove that (a−b)(b−c)(c−a)(a+b+c)=0.(a - b)(b - c)(c - a)(a + b + c) = 0.

Problem 3

The wording is just ever so slightly different, however the problem is identical.

Problem 3. Determine all functions f:N→Nf: \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{N} such that n2+f(n)f(m)n^2 + f(n)f(m) is a multiple of f(n)+mf(n) + m for all natural numbers m,nm, n .

Problem 4

A chessboard with 2n×2n2n \times 2n tiles is coloured such that every tile is coloured with one out of nn colours. Prove that there exists 2 tiles in either the same column or row such that if the colours of both tiles are swapped, then there exists a rectangle where all its four corner tiles have the same colour.

Problem 5

A set AA contains exactly nn integers, each of which is greater than 11 and every of their prime factors is less than 1010 . Determine the smallest nn such that AA must contain at least two distinct elements aa and bb such that abab is the square of an integer.

Problem 6

Given a cyclic quadrilateral ABCDABCD . Let XX be a point on segment BCBC ( X≠BCX \not= BC ) such that line AXAX is perpendicular to the angle bisector of ∠CBD\angle CBD , and YY be a point on segment ADAD ( Y≠D)Y \not= D) such that BYBY is perpendicular to the angle bisector of ∠CAD\angle CAD . Prove that XYXY is parallel to CDCD .

Problem 7

Determine all real-coefficient polynomials P(x)P(x) such that P(⌊x⌋)=⌊P(x)⌋P(\lfloor x \rfloor) = \lfloor P(x) \rfloorfor every real numbers xx .

Problem 8

Determine the smallest natural number n>2n > 2 , or show that no such natural numbers nn exists, that satisfy the following condition: There exists natural numbers a1,a2,…,ana_1, a_2, \dots, a_n such that gcd⁡(a1,a2,…,an)=∑k=1n−1(1gcd⁡(ak,ak+1)+1gcd⁡(ak,ak+2)+⋯+1gcd⁡(ak,an))⏟n−k terms\gcd(a_1, a_2, \dots, a_n) = \sum_{k = 1}^{n - 1} \underbrace{\left( \frac{1}{\gcd(a_k, a_{k + 1})} + \frac{1}{\gcd(a_k, a_{k + 2})} + \dots + \frac{1}{\gcd(a_k, a_n)} \right)}_{n - k \ \text{terms}}
