Problem 1

Given that nn and rr are positive integers. Suppose that 1+2+⋯+(n−1)=(n+1)+(n+2)+⋯+(n+r)1 + 2 + \dots + (n - 1) = (n + 1) + (n + 2) + \dots + (n + r) Prove that nn is a composite number.

Problem 2

Given 1919 red boxes and 200200 blue boxes filled with balls. None of which is empty. Suppose that every red boxes have a maximum of 200200 balls and every blue boxes have a maximum of 1919 balls. Suppose that the sum of all balls in the red boxes is less than the sum of all the balls in the blue boxes. Prove that there exists a subset of the red boxes and a subset of the blue boxes such that their sum is the same.

Problem 3

Given that ABCDABCD is a rectangle such that AD>ABAD > AB , where EE is on ADAD such that BE⊥ACBE \perp AC . Let MM be the intersection of ACAC and BEBE . Let the circumcircle of △ABE\triangle ABE intersects ACAC and BCBC at NN and FF . Moreover, let the circumcircle of △DNE\triangle DNE intersects CDCD at GG . Suppose FGFG intersects ABAB at PP . Prove that PM=PNPM = PN .

Problem 4

Let us define a triangle equivalence\textit{triangle equivalence} a group of numbers that can be arranged as shown a+b=ca+b=c d+e+f=g+hd+e+f=g+h i+j+k+l=m+n+oi+j+k+l=m+n+o and so on...

Where at the jj -th row, the left hand side has j+1j+1 terms and the right hand side has jj terms.

Now, we are given the first N2N^2 positive integers, where NN is a positive integer. Suppose we eliminate any one number that has the same parity with NN .

Prove that the remaining N2−1N^2-1 numbers can be formed into a triangle equivalence\textit{triangle equivalence} .

For example, if 1010 is eliminated from the first 1616 numbers, the remaining numbers can be arranged into a triangle equivalence\textit{triangle equivalence} as shown. 1+3=41+3=4 2+5+8=6+92+5+8=6+9 7+11+12+14=13+15+167+11+12+14=13+15+16

Problem 5

Given that aa and bb are real numbers such that for infinitely many positive integers mm and nn , ⌊an+b⌋≥⌊a+bn⌋\lfloor an + b \rfloor \ge \lfloor a + bn \rfloor ⌊a+bm⌋≥⌊am+b⌋\lfloor a + bm \rfloor \ge \lfloor am + b \rfloor Prove that a=ba = b .

Problem 6

Given a circle with center OO , such that AA is not on the circumcircle. Let BB be the reflection of AA with respect to OO . Now let PP be a point on the circumcircle. The line perpendicular to APAP through PP intersects the circle at QQ . Prove that AP×BQAP \times BQ remains constant as PP varies.

Problem 7

Determine all solutions of x+y2=pmx + y^2 = p^m x2+y=pnx^2 + y = p^n For x,y,m,nx,y,m,n positive integers and pp being a prime.

Problem 8

Let n>1n > 1 be a positive integer and a1,a2,…,a2n∈{−n,−n+1,…,n−1,n}a_1, a_2, \dots, a_{2n} \in \{ -n, -n + 1, \dots, n - 1, n \} . Suppose a1+a2+a3+⋯+a2n=n+1a_1 + a_2 + a_3 + \dots + a_{2n} = n + 1 Prove that some of a1,a2,…,a2na_1, a_2, \dots, a_{2n} have sum 0.
