    For all primes p≥3p\ge3, let S(p)=∑k=1p−12tan⁡k2πp.S(p) = \sum_{k=1}^{\frac{p-1}2} \tan \frac{k^2\pi}{p}. (a)(a) Show that p≡1(mod4)p\equiv1\pmod4 implies S(p)=0S(p)=0. (b)(b) Show that if p≡3(mod4)p\equiv3\pmod4, then S(p)p\dfrac{S(p)}{\sqrt{p}} is an odd integer.
