Problem 1

Let ABCDA B C D be a convex quadrilateral. Define parabolas PA\mathcal{P}_{A} PB\mathcal{P}_{B} PC\mathcal{P}_{C} , and PD\mathcal{P}_{D} to have directrices BDB D CAC A DBD B , and ACA C , and foci AA BB CC , and DD , respectively. Prove that no two of these parabolas intersect more than once.

(A parabola with directrix ℓ\ell and focus PP consists of all points XX for which PXP X equals the distance from PP to ℓ\ell .)

Problem 2

Find all polynomials PP with real coefficients for which there exists a polynomial QQ with real coefficients such that for all real tt ,

cos⁡(P(t))=Q(cos⁡t).\cos (P(t)) = Q(\cos t).

Problem 3

Let ABCDABCD be a parallelogram, and let OO be a point inside ABCDABCD . Suppose the circumcircles of triangles OABOAB and OCDOCD intersect at P≠OP \neq O , and the circumcircles of triangles OBCOBC and OADOAD intersect at Q≠OQ \neq O . Prove ∠POQ\angle POQ equals one of the angles of quadrilateral ABCDABCD .

Problem 4

Determine whether there exist infinitely many pairs of distinct positive integers mm and nn such that 2m+n2^{m} + n divides 2n+m2^{n} + m .

Problem 5

Compute the smallest positive integer k>45k > 45 for which there exists a sequence a1a_{1} , a2a_{2} , a3a_{3} , ..., ak−1a_{k - 1} of positive integers satisfying the following conditions:

ai=ia_{i} = i for all integers 1≤i≤451\leq i\leq 45 ak−i=ia_{k - i} = i for all integers 1≤i≤451\leq i\leq 45 , and for any odd integer 1≤n≤k−451\leq n\leq k - 45 , the sequence ana_{n} , an+1a_{n + 1} , ..., an+44a_{n + 44} is a permutation of {1,2,…,45}\{1,2,\ldots ,45\} .
