Problem 1

By dividing the integer mm by the integer n,22n, 22 is the quotient and 55 the remainder. As the division of the remainder with nn continues, the new quotient is 0.40.4 and the new remainder is 0.20.2 . Find mm and nn .

Problem 2

Determine x2+y2x^2+y^2 and x4+y4x^4+y^4 , when x3+y3=2x^3+y^3=2 and x+y=1x+y=1

Problem 3

Consider positive integers mm and nn for which m>nm> n and the number 22220038m−22220038n22 220 038^m-22 220 038^n has are eight zeros at the end. Show that n>7n> 7 .

Problem 4

Let mm be a positive integer. Two players, Axel and Elina play the game HAUKKU ( mm ) proceeds as follows: Axel starts and the players choose integers alternately. Initially, the set of integers is the set of positive divisors of a positive integer mm .The player in turn chooses one of the remaining numbers, and removes that number and all of its multiples from the list of selectable numbers. A player who has to choose number 11 , loses. Show that the beginner player, Axel, has a winning strategy in the HAUKKU ( mm ) game for all m∈Z+m \in Z_{+} .

PS. As member Loppukilpailija noted, it should be written m>1m>1 , as the statement does not hold for m=1m = 1 .

Problem 5

Let AA and BB be two arbitrary points on the circumference of the circle such that ABAB is not the diameter of the circle. The tangents to the circle drawn at points AA and BB meet at TT . Next, choose the diameter XYXY so that the segments AXAX and BYBY intersect. Let this be the intersection of QQ . Prove that the points A,BA, B , and QQ lie on a circle with center TT .
