BG-MO 1988 Problem 2

Let nn and kk be natural numbers and pp a prime number. Prove that if kk is the exact exponent of pp in 22n+12^{2^n}+1 (i.e. pkp^k divides 22n+12^{2^n}+1 , but pk+1p^{k+1} does not), then kk is also the exact exponent of pp in 2p−1−12^{p-1}-1 .
