ALIBABA 2021 Problem 3

Given positive integers k≥2k \ge 2 and mm sufficiently large. Let Fm\mathcal{F}_m be the infinite family of all the (not necessarily square) binary matrices which contain exactly mm 1's. Denote by f(m)f(m) the maximum integer LL such that for every matrix A∈FmA \in \mathcal{F}_m , there always exists a binary matrix BB of the same dimension such that (1) BB has at least LL 1-entries; (2) every entry of BB is less or equal to the corresponding entry of AA ; (3) BB does not contain any k×kk \times k all-1 submatrix. Show the equality lim⁡m→∞ln⁡f(m)ln⁡m=kk+1.\lim_{m \to \infty} \frac{\ln f(m)}{\ln m}=\frac{k}{k+1}.
