Problem 2

Find the maximum value of sin⁡2α+sin⁡2β+sin⁡2γ\sin{2\alpha} + \sin{2\beta} + \sin{2\gamma} where α,β\alpha,\beta and γ\gamma are positive and α+β+γ=180∘\alpha + \beta + \gamma = 180^{\circ} .

Problem 3

A, B, C, D, EA,\ B,\ C,\ D,\ E and FF lie (in that order) on the circumference of a circle. The chords AD, BEAD,\ BE and CFCF are concurrent. P, QP,\ Q and RR are the midpoints of AD, BEAD,\ BE and CFCF respectively. Two further chords AG∥BEAG \parallel BE and AH∥CFAH \parallel CF are drawn. Show that PQRPQR is similar to DGHDGH .

Problem 4

In a group of people, every two people have exactly one friend in common. Prove that there is a person who is a friend of everyone else.

Problem 5

Prove that gcd⁡((n1),(n2),…,(nn−1))\gcd{\left({n \choose 1},{n \choose 2},\dots,{n \choose {n - 1}}\right)} is a prime if nn is a power of a prime, and 1 otherwise.

Problem 6

You are given nn squares, not necessarily all of the same size, which have total area 1. Is it always possible to place them without overlapping in a square of area 2?
