Other problems

Problem 1

Prove that there are no integers mm and nn such that 19m2+95mn+2000n2=1995.19m^2+95mn+2000n^2=1995.

Problem 2

ABCABC is a triangle with A^<C^\hat{A}<\hat{C} , and DD is the point on BCBC such that BA^D=AC^BB\hat{A}D=A\hat{C}B . The perpendicular bisectors of ADAD and ACAC intersect in the point EE . Prove that BA^E=90∘B\hat{A}E=90^\circ .

Problem 3

Suppose that a1,a2,…,ana_1,a_2,\dots,a_n are the numbers 1,2,3,…,n1,2,3,\dots,n but written in any order. Prove that (a1−1)2+(a2−2)2+⋯+(an−n)2(a_1-1)^2+(a_2-2)^2+\cdots+(a_n-n)^2 is always even.

Problem 4

Three circles, with radii pp , qq and rr and centres AA , BB and CC respectively, touch one another externally at points DD , EE and FF . Prove that the ratio of the areas of △DEF\triangle DEF and △ABC\triangle ABC equals 2pqr(p+q)(q+r)(r+p).\frac{2pqr}{(p+q)(q+r)(r+p)}.

Problem 5

The convex quadrilateral ABCDABCD has area 11 , and ABAB is produced to EE , BCBC to FF , CDCD to GG and DADA to HH , such that AB=BEAB=BE , BC=CFBC=CF , CD=DGCD=DG and DA=AHDA=AH . Find the area of the quadrilateral EFGHEFGH .

Problem 6

Find all pairs (m,n)(m,n) of natural numbers with m<nm<n such that m2+1m^2+1 is a multiple of nn and n2+1n^2+1 is a multiple of mm .
