Other problems

Problem 1

Let △ABC\triangle ABC be an isosceles triangle such that AB=ACAB=AC . Let ω\omega be a circle centered at AA with a radius strictly less than ABAB . Draw a tangent from BB to ω\omega at PP , and draw a tangent from CC to ω\omega at QQ . Suppose that the line PQPQ intersects the line BCBC at point MM . Prove that MM is the midpoint of BCBC .

Problem 2

Determine all sequences a1,a2,a3,…a_1,a_2,a_3,\dots of positive integers that satisfy the equation (n2+1)an+1−an=n3+n2+1(n^2+1)a_{n+1} - a_n = n^3+n^2+1 for all positive integers nn .

Problem 3

Let aa , bb , and cc be positive real numbers satisfying ab+bc+ca=abcab+bc+ca=abc . Determine the minimum value of aabc+bbca+ccab.a^abc + b^bca + c^cab.

Problem 4

Kan Krao Park is a circular park that has 2121 entrances and a straight line walkway joining each pair of two entrances. No three walkways meet at a single point. Some walkways are paved with bricks, while others are paved with asphalt.

At each intersection of two walkways, excluding the entrances, is planted lotus if the two walkways are paved with the same material, and is planted waterlily if the two walkways are paved with different materials.

Each walkway is decorated with lights if and only if the same type of plant is placed at least 4545 different points along that walkway. Prove that there are at least 1111 walkways decorated with lights and paved with the same material.

Problem 5

Determine all triples (p,m,k)(p,m,k) of positive integers such that pp is a prime number, mm and kk are odd integers, and m4+4kp4m^4+4^kp^4 divides m2(m4−4kp4)m^2(m^4-4^kp^4) .

Problem 6

The cheering team of Ubon Ratchathani University sits on the amphitheater that has 441441 seats arranged into a 21×2121\times 21 grid. Every seat is occupied by exactly one person, and each person has a blue sign and a yellow sign.

Count the number of ways for each person to raise one sign so that each row and column has an odd number of people raising a blue sign.

Problem 7

Determine all functions f:R+→Rf : \mathbb R^+ \to \mathbb R that satisfy the equation f(xy)=f(x)f(y)f(x+y)f(xy) = f(x)f(y)f(x+y) for all positive real numbers xx and yy .

Problem 8

Let PP be a point inside an acute triangle ABCABC . Let the lines BPBP and CPCP intersect the sides ACAC and ABAB at DD and EE , respectively. Let the circles with diameters BDBD and CECE intersect at points SS and TT . Prove that if the points AA , SS , and TT are colinear, then PP lies on a median of △ABC\triangle ABC .

Problem 9

Let SS be a set of positive integers such that if aa and bb are elements of SS such that a<ba<b , then b−ab-a divides the least common multiple of aa and bb , and the quotient is an element of SS . Prove that the cardinality of SS is less than or equal to 22 .

Problem 10

Let d≥13d\geq 13 be an integer, and let P(x)=adxd+ad−1xd−1+⋯+a1x+a0P(x) = a_dx^d + a_{d-1}x^{d-1} + \dots + a_1x+a_0 be a polynomial of degree dd with complex coefficients such that an=ad−na_n = a_{d-n} for all n∈{0,1,…,d}n\in\{0,1,\dots,d\} . Prove that if PP has no double roots, then PP has two distinct roots z1z_1 and z2z_2 such that ∣z1−z2∣<1|z_1-z_2|<1 .
