  • Paper B

Let a,b,a, b, and cc be real numbers, and let PP be the polynomial

P(x)=x6+ax4+bx2+c.P(x) = x^6 + ax^4 + bx^2 + c.

Suppose that there is a unique circle Γ\Gamma in the complex plane such that all of the roots of PP lie on Γ\Gamma. Prove that b3=a3cb^3 = a^3c.
