Problem 1

In a parallelogram ABCDABCD , the perpendiculars from AA to BCBC and CDCD meet the line segments BCBC and CDCD at the points EE and FF respectively. Suppose AC=37AC = 37 cm and EF=35EF = 35 cm. Let HH be the orthocentre of △AEF\vartriangle AEF . Find the length of AHAH in cm. Show the steps in your calculations.

Problem 2

Let nn be a positive integer, and let a1,a2,...,ana_1,a_2,...,a_n be nn positive real numbers such that a1+a2+...+an=1a_1+a_2+...+a_n = 1 . Is it true that a14a12+a22+a24a22+a32+a34a32+a42+...+an−14an−12+an2+an4an2+a12≥12n\frac{a_1^4}{a_1^2+a_2^2}+\frac{a_2^4}{a_2^2+a_3^2}+\frac{a_3^4}{a_3^2+a_4^2}+...+\frac{a_{n-1}^4}{a_{n-1}^2+a_n^2}+\frac{a_n^4}{a_n^2+a_1^2}\ge \frac{1}{2n} ? Justify your answer.

Problem 3

Suppose that there are 20012001 golf balls which are numbered from 11 to 20012001 respectively, and some of these golf balls are placed inside a box. It is known that the difference between the two numbers of any two golf balls inside the box is neither 55 nor 88 . How many such golf balls the box can contain at most? Justify your answer.

Problem 4

A positive integer nn is said to possess Property ( AA ) if there exists a positive integer NN such that N2N^2 can be written as the sum of the squares of nn consecutive positive integers. Is it true that there are infinitely many positive integers which possess Property ( AA )? Justify your answer. (As an example, the number n=2n = 2 possesses Property ( AA ) since 52=32+425^2 = 3^2 + 4^2 ).
