Problem 1

An integer xx has the property that the sums of the digits of xx and of 3x3x are the same. Prove that xx is divisible by 99 .

Problem 2

A railway line is divided into ten sections by the stations A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,KA,B,C,D,E,F, G,H,I,J,K . The length of each section is an integer number of kilometers and the distacne between AA and KK is 5656 km. A trip along two successive sections never exceeds 1212 km, but a trip along three successive sections is at least 1717 km. What is the distance between BB and GG ? Image

Problem 3

Assume that aa and bb are integers. Prove that the equation a2+b2+x2=y2a^2 +b^2 +x^2 = y^2 has an integer solution x,yx,y if and only if the product abab is even.

Problem 4

To each pair of nonzero real numbers aa and bb a real number a∗ba*b is assigned so that a∗(b∗c)=(a∗b)ca*(b*c) = (a*b)c and a∗a=1a*a = 1 for all a,b,ca,b,c . Solve the equation x∗36=216x*36 = 216 .

Problem 5

A triangle with sides a,b,ca,b,c and perimeter 2p2p is given. Is possible, a new triangle with sides p−ap-a , p−bp-b , p−cp-c is formed. The process is then repeated with the new triangle. For which original triangles can this process be repeated indefinitely?

Problem 6

For real numbers aa and bb define f(x)=1ax+bf(x) = \frac{1}{ax+b} . For which aa and bb are there three distinct real numbers x1,x2,x3x_1,x_2,x_3 such that f(x1)=x2f(x_1) = x_2 , f(x2)=x3f(x_2) = x_3 and f(x3)=x1f(x_3) = x_1 ?
