SCHWEITZER 1967 Problem 10

Let σ(Sn,k)\sigma(S_n,k) denote the sum of the kk th powers of the lengths of the sides of the convex nn -gon SnS_n inscribed in a unit circle. Show that for any natural number greater than 22 there exists a real number k0k_0 between 11 and 22 such that σ(Sn,k0)\sigma(S_n,k_0) attains its maximum for the regular nn -gon.
