Day 1

Problem 1

  • Day 1

Let ABCABC be a triangle with a right angle at CC . Let II be the incentre of triangle ABCABC , and let DD be the foot of the altitude from CC to ABAB . The incircle ω\omega of triangle ABCABC is tangent to sides BCBC , CACA , and ABAB at A1A_1 , B1B_1 , and C1C_1 , respectively. Let EE and FF be the reflections of CC in lines C1A1C_1A_1 and C1B1C_1B_1 , respectively. Let KK and LL be the reflections of DD in lines C1A1C_1A_1 and C1B1C_1B_1 , respectively.

Prove that the circumcircles of triangles A1EIA_1EI , B1FIB_1FI , and C1KLC_1KL have a common point.

Problem 2

  • Day 1

Let N≥2N \geq 2 be an integer, and let a\mathbf a =(a1,…,aN)= (a_1, \ldots, a_N) and b\mathbf b =(b1,…bN)= (b_1, \ldots b_N) be sequences of non-negative integers. For each integer i∉{1,…,N}i \not \in \{1, \ldots, N\} , let ai=aka_i = a_k and bi=bkb_i = b_k , where k∈{1,…,N}k \in \{1, \ldots, N\} is the integer such that i−ki-k is divisible by nn . We say a\mathbf a is b\mathbf b -harmonic if each aia_i equals the following arithmetic mean: ai=12bi+1∑s=−bibiai+s.a_i = \frac{1}{2b_i+1} \sum_{s=-b_i}^{b_i} a_{i+s}. Suppose that neither a\mathbf a nor b\mathbf b is a constant sequence, and that both a\mathbf a is b\mathbf b -harmonic and b\mathbf b is a\mathbf a -harmonic.

Prove that at least N+1N+1 of the numbers a1,…,aN,b1,…,bNa_1, \ldots, a_N,b_1, \ldots, b_N are zero.

Problem 3

  • Day 1

Let n≥3n\ge 3 be an integer. In a country there are nn airports and nn airlines operating two-way flights. For each airline, there is an odd integer m≥3m\ge 3 , and mm distinct airports c1,…,cmc_1, \dots, c_m , where the flights offered by the airline are exactly those between the following pairs of airports: c1c_1 and c2c_2 ; c2c_2 and c3c_3 ; …\dots ; cm−1c_{m-1} and cmc_m ; cmc_m and c1c_1 .

Prove that there is a closed route consisting of an odd number of flights where no two flights are operated by the same airline.

Problem 4

  • Day 2

Let N\mathbb N be the set of all positive integers. A subset AA of N\mathbb N is sum-free if, whenever xx and yy are (not necessarily distinct) members of AA , their sum x+yx+y does not belong to AA . Determine all surjective functions f:N→Nf:\mathbb N\to\mathbb N such that, for each sum-free subset AA of N\mathbb N , the image {f(a):a∈A}\{f(a):a\in A\} is also sum-free.

Note: a function f:N→Nf:\mathbb N\to\mathbb N is surjective if, for every positive integer nn , there exists a positive integer mm such that f(m)=nf(m)=n .

Problem 5

  • Day 2

A lattice point in the Cartesian plane is a point whose coordinates are both integers. A lattice polygon is a polygon all of whose vertices are lattice points.

Let Γ\Gamma be a convex lattice polygon. Prove that Γ\Gamma is contained in a convex lattice polygon Ω\Omega such that the vertices of Γ\Gamma all lie on the boundary of Ω\Omega , and exactly one vertex of Ω\Omega is not a vertex of Γ\Gamma .
