Day 1

Problem 1

  • Day 1

Let ABCDA B C D be a cyclic quadrangle and let PP be a point on the side ABA B. The diagonal ACA C crosses the segment DPD P at QQ. The parallel through PP to CDC D crosses the extension of the side BCB C beyond BB at KK, and the parallel through QQ to BDB D crosses the extension of the side BCB C beyond BB at LL. Prove that the circumcircles of the triangles BKPB K P and CLQC L Q are tangent.

Problem 2

  • Day 1

Determine whether there exist non-constant polynomials P(x)P(x) and Q(x)Q(x) with real coefficients satisfying

P(x)10+P(x)9=Q(x)21+Q(x)20.P(x)^{10}+P(x)^{9}=Q(x)^{21}+Q(x)^{20} .

Problem 3

  • Day 1

Ann and Bob play a game on an infinite checkered plane making moves in turn; Ann makes the first move. A move consists in orienting any unit grid-segment that has not been oriented before. If at some stage some oriented segments form an oriented cycle, Bob wins. Does Bob have a strategy that guarantees him to win?

Problem 4

  • Day 2

Let a,b,c,da, b, c, d be positive integers such that ad≠bca d \neq b c and gcd⁡(a,b,c,d)=1\operatorname{gcd}(a, b, c, d)=1. Prove that, as nn runs through the positive integers, the values gcd⁡(an+b,cn+d)\operatorname{gcd}(a n+b, c n+d) may achieve form the set of all positive divisors of some integer.

Problem 5

  • Day 2

Let nn be a positive integer and fix 2n2 n distinct points on a circumference. Split these points into nn pairs and join the points in each pair by an arrow (i.e., an oriented line segment). The resulting configuration is good if no two arrows cross, and there are no arrows AB→\overrightarrow{A B} and CD→\overrightarrow{C D} such that ABCDA B C D is a convex quadrangle oriented clockwise. Determine the number of good configurations.

Problem 6

  • Day 2

Fix a circle Γ\Gamma, a line ℓ\ell tangent to Γ\Gamma, and another circle Ω\Omega disjoint from ℓ\ell such that Γ\Gamma and Ω\Omega lie on opposite sides of ℓ\ell. The tangents to Γ\Gamma from a variable point XX on Ω\Omega cross ℓ\ell at YY and ZZ. Prove that, as XX traces Ω\Omega, the circle XYZX Y Z is tangent to two fixed circles.
