Other problems

Problem 1

Let ABCDEFABCDEF be a regular hexagon, in the sides ABAB , CDCD , DEDE and FAFA we choose four points P,Q,RP,Q,R and SS respectively, such that PQRSPQRS is a square. Prove that PQPQ and BCBC are parallel.

Problem 2

Find all functions f:R→Rf:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R} such that f(f(x)2+f(y2))=(x−y)f(x−f(y))f(f(x)^2+f(y^2))=(x-y)f(x-f(y))

Problem 3

In the dog dictionary the words are any sequence of letters AA and UU for example AAAA , UAUUAU and AUAUAUAU . For each word, your "profundity" will be the quantity of subwords we can obtain by the removal of some letters. For each positive integer nn , determine the largest "profundity" of word, in dog dictionary, can have with nn letters. Note: The word AAUUAAAUUA has "profundity" 1414 because your subwords are A,U,AU,AA,UU,UA,AUU,UUA,AAU,AUA,AAA,AAUU,AAUA,AUUAA, U, AU, AA, UU, UA, AUU, UUA, AAU, AUA, AAA, AAUU, AAUA, AUUA .

Problem 4

Prove that there are infinite triples (a,b,c)(a,b,c) of positive integers a,b,c>1a,b,c>1 , gcd(a,b)=gcd(b,c)=gcd(c,a)=1gcd(a,b)=gcd(b,c)=gcd(c,a)=1 such that a+b+ca+b+c divides ab+bc+caa^b+b^c+c^a .

Problem 5

Let ABCABC be a triangle with AB<ACAB<AC and circuncircle ω\omega . Let MM and NN be the midpoints of ACAC and ABAB respectively and GG is the centroid of ABCABC . Let PP be the foot of perpendicular of AA to the line BCBC , and the point QQ is the intersection of GPGP and ω\omega ( Q,P,GQ,P,G are collinears in this order). The line QMQM cuts ω\omega in M1M_1 and the line QNQN cuts ω\omega in N1N_1 . If KK is the intersection of BM1BM_1 and CN1CN_1 prove that PP , GG and KK are collinears.

Problem 6

Let α>1\alpha>1 be a real number such that the sequence an=α⌊αn⌋−⌊αn+1⌋a_n=\alpha\lfloor \alpha^n\rfloor- \lfloor \alpha^{n+1}\rfloor , with n≥1n\geq 1 , is periodic, that is, there is a positive integer pp such that an+p=ana_{n+p}=a_n for all nn . Prove that α\alpha is an integer.
