Problem 1

Let XX be an interior point of a rectangle ABCDABCD . Let the bisectors of ∠DAX\angle DAX and ∠CBX\angle CBX intersect in PP . A point QQ satisfies ∠QAP=∠QBP=90∘\angle QAP=\angle QBP=90^\circ . Show that PX=QXPX=QX .

Problem 2

Let nn be a positive integer. Bolek draws 2n2n points in the plane, no two of them defining a vertical or a horizontal line. Then Lolek draws for each of these 2n2n points two rays emanating from them, one of them vertically and the other one horizontally.

Lolek wants to maximize the number of regions in which these rays divide the plane. Determine the largest number kk such that Lolek can obtain at least kk regions independent of the points chosen by Bolek.

Problem 5

We are given an integer n≥2024n \ge 2024 and a sequence a1,a2,…,an2a_1,a_2,\dots,a_{n^2} of real numbers satisfying ∣ak−ak−1∣≤1kand∣a1+a2+⋯+ak∣≤1\vert a_k-a_{k-1}\vert \le \frac{1}{k} \text{and} \vert a_1+a_2+\dots+a_k\vert \le 1 for k=2,3,…,n2k=2,3,\dots,n^2 . Show that ∣an(n−1)∣≤2n\vert a_{n(n-1)}\vert \le \frac{2}{n} . Note: Proving ∣an(n−1)∣≤75n\vert a_{n(n-1)}\vert \le \frac{75}{n} will be rewarded partial points.

Problem 6

Let ABCDABCD be a parallelogram. Let X∉ACX \notin AC lie inside ABCDABCD so that ∠AXB=∠CXD=90∘\angle AXB = \angle CXD = 90^ {\circ} and Ω\Omega denote the circumcircle of AXCAXC . Consider a diameter EFEF of Ω\Omega and assume neither E, X, BE, \ X, \ B nor F, X, DF, \ X, \ D are collinear. Let K≠XK \neq X be an intersection point of circumcircles of BXEBXE and DXFDXF and L≠XL \neq X be such point on Ω\Omega so that ∠KXL=90∘\angle KXL = 90^{\circ} . Prove that AB=KLAB = KL .
