Other problems

Problem 1

Determine all real numbers A,BA, B and CC such that there exists a real function ff that satisfies

f(x+f(y))=Ax+By+Cf(x+f(y))=A x+B y+C

for all real xx and yy.

Problem 2

Assume that n≥3n \geq 3 people with different names sit around a round table. We call any unordered pair of them, say MM and NN, dominating, if

(i) MM and NN do not sit on adjacent seats, and

(ii) on one (or both) of the arcs connecting MM and NN along the table edge, all people have names that come alphabetically after the names of MM and NN.

Determine the minimal number of dominating pairs.

Problem 3

Let ABCA B C be a triangle and let DD and EE be points on BCB C and CAC A, respectively, such that ADA D and BEB E are angle bisectors of ABCA B C. Let FF and GG be points on the circumcircle of ABCA B C such that AFA F and DED E are parallel and FGF G and BCB C are parallel. Show that

AGBG=AC+BCAB+CB\frac{A G}{B G}=\frac{A C+B C}{A B+C B}

Problem 4

The difference between the cubes of two consecutive positive integers is a square n2n^{2}, where nn is a positive integer. Show that nn is the sum of two squares.
