Other problems

Problem 1

Determine the smallest nn such that n≡(a−1)n \equiv (a - 1) mod aa for all a∈{2,3,...,10}a \in \{2,3,..., 10\} .

Problem 2

Prove that for all n∈Nn \in N , x2+y2=znx^2 + y^2 = z^n has solutions with x,y,z∈Nx,y,z \in N .

Problem 3

Given a quadrilateral ABCDABCD with AB=BD=DCAB = BD = DC and AC=BCAC = BC . On BCBC lies point EE such that AE=ABAE = AB . Prove that ED=EBED = EB .

Problem 4

An angle <45o< 45^o is given in the plane of the drawing. Furthermore, the projection P1P_1 of a point PP lying above the plane of the drawing and the distance from PP to P1P_1 are given. P1P_1 lies within the given angle. On the legs of the given angle, construct points AA and BB , respectively, such that the triangle PABPAB has a minimal perimeter.

Problem 5

a) Prove that for n=2,3,4,...n = 2,3,4,... holds: sin⁡a+sin⁡2a+...+sin⁡(n−1)a=cos⁡a(a2)−cos⁡(n−12)a2sin⁡(a2)\sin a + \sin 2a + ...+ \sin (n-1)a=\frac{\cos a \left(\frac{a}{2}\right) - \cos \left(n-\frac{1}{2}\right) a}{2 \sin \left(\frac{a}{2}\right)} b) A point on the circumference of a wheel, which, remaining in a vertical plane, rolls along a horizontal path, describes, at one revolution of the wheel, a curve having a length equal to four times the diameter of the wheel. Prove this by first considering tilting a regular nn -gon.
