Other problems

Problem 1

Find all positive integers with two or more digits such that if we insert a 00 between the units and tens digits we get a multiple of the original number.

Problem 2

A,B,CA, B, C are collinear with BB betweeen AA and CC . K1K_{1} is the circle with diameter ABAB , and K2K_{2} is the circle with diameter BCBC . Another circle touches ACAC at BB and meets K1K_{1} again at PP and K2K_{2} again at QQ . The line PQPQ meets K1K_{1} again at RR and K2K_{2} again at SS . Show that the lines ARAR and CSCS meet on the perpendicular to ACAC at BB .

Problem 3

At a party there are nn women and nn men. Each woman likes rr of the men, and each man likes ss of then women. For which rr and ss must there be a man and a woman who like each other?

Problem 4

The quadrilateral ABCDABCD has ABAB parallel to CDCD . PP is on the side ABAB and QQ on the side CDCD such that APPB=DQCQ\frac{AP}{PB}= \frac{DQ}{CQ} . M is the intersection of AQAQ and DPDP , and NN is the intersection of PCPC and QBQB . Find MNMN in terms of ABAB and CDCD .

Problem 5

Some cards each have a pair of numbers written on them. There is just one card for each pair (a,b)(a,b) with 1≤a<b≤20031 \leq a < b \leq 2003 . Two players play the following game. Each removes a card in turn and writes the product abab of its numbers on the blackboard. The first player who causes the greatest common divisor of the numbers on the blackboard to fall to 11 loses. Which player has a winning strategy?

Problem 6

Given a positive integer nn , an allowed move is to form 2n+12n+1 or 3n+23n+2 . The set SnS_{n} is the set of all numbers that can be obtained by a sequence of allowed moves starting with nn . For example, we can form 5→11→355 \rightarrow 11 \rightarrow 35 so 5,115, 11 and 3535 belong to S5S_{5} . We call mm and nn compatible if SmS_{m} and SnS_{n} has a common element. Which members of {1,2,3,...,2002}\{1, 2, 3, ... , 2002\} are compatible with 20032003 ?
