Problem 1

A number is called lucky if computing the sum of the squares of its digits and repeating this operation sufficiently many times leads to number 11 . For example, 19001900 is lucky, as 1900→82→68→100→11900 \to 82 \to 68 \to 100 \to 1 . Find infinitely many pairs of consecutive numbers each of which is lucky.

Problem 2

Rays ll and mm forming an angle of aa are drawn from the same point. Let PP be a fixed point on ll . For each circle CC tangent to ll at PP and intersecting mm at QQ and RR , let TT be the intersection point of the bisector of angle QPRQPR with CC . Describe the locus of TT and justify your answer.

Problem 4

Find all integers that can be written in the form 1a1+2a2+...+9a9\frac{1}{a_1}+\frac{2}{a_2}+...+\frac{9}{a_9} where a1,a2,...,a9a_1,a_2, ...,a_9 are nonzero digits, not necessarily different.

Problem 5

The tangents at points BB and CC on a given circle meet at point AA . Let QQ be a point on segment ACAC and let BQBQ meet the circle again at PP . The line through QQ parallel to ABAB intersects BCBC at JJ . Prove that PJPJ is parallel to ACAC if and only if BC2=AC⋅QCBC^2 = AC\cdot QC .

Problem 6

A plane in space is equidistant from a set of points if its distances from the points in the set are equal. What is the largest possible number of equidistant planes from five points, no four of which are coplanar?
