Problem 1

Prove that if mm and ss are integers with ms=20002001ms=2000^{2001} , then the equation mx2−sy2=3mx^2-sy^2=3 has no integer solutions.

Problem 2

Does there exist a function f:N→Nf:\mathbb{N}\rightarrow\mathbb{N} such that f(f(n−1)=f(n+1)−f(n)for all n≥2?f(f(n-1)=f(n+1)-f(n) \text{for all}\ n\ge 2\text{?}

Problem 3

Let ABCABC be a scalene triangle and kk be its circumcircle. Let tA,tB,tCt_A,t_B,t_C be the tangents to kk at A,B,C,A, B, C, respectively. Prove that points AB∩tCAB\cap t_C , CA∩tBCA\cap t_B , and BC∩tABC\cap t_A exist, and that they are collinear.

Problem 4

Let Ω\Omega be a family of subsets of MM such that: (i)(\text{i}) If ∣A∩B∣≥2|A\cap B|\ge 2 for A,B∈ΩA,B\in\Omega , then A=BA=B ; (ii)(\text{ii}) There exist different subsets A,B,C∈ΩA,B,C\in\Omega with ∣A∩B∩C∣=1|A\cap B\cap C|=1 ; (iii)(\text{iii}) For every A∈ΩA\in\Omega and a∈M Aa\in M \ A , there is a unique B∈ΩB\in\Omega such that a∈Ba\in B and A∩B=∅A\cap B=\emptyset .

Prove that there are numbers pp and ss such that: (1)(1) Each a∈Ma\in M is contained in exactly pp sets in Ω\Omega ; (2)(2) ∣A∣=s|A|=s for all A∈ΩA\in\Omega ; (3)(3) s+1≥ps+1\ge p .
