Problem 1

  • Paper

Let n(n≥1)n(n \geq 1) be an integer. Consider the equation

2⋅⌊12x⌋−n+1=(n+1)(1−nx)2 \cdot\left\lfloor\frac{1}{2 x}\right\rfloor-n+1=(n+1)(1-n x)

where xx is the unknown real variable.

(a) Solve the equation for n=8n=8.

(b) Prove that there exists an integer nn for which the equation has at least 2021 solutions. (For any real number yy by ⌊y⌋\lfloor y\rfloor we denote the largest integer mm such that m≤ym \leq y.)

For any set A={x1,x2,x3,x4,x5}A=\left\{x_{1}, x_{2}, x_{3}, x_{4}, x_{5}\right\} of five distinct positive integers denote by SAS_{A} the sum of its elements, and denote by TAT_{A} the number of triples (i,j,k)(i, j, k) with 1⩽i<j<k⩽51 \leqslant i<j<k \leqslant 5 for which xi+xj+xkx_{i}+x_{j}+x_{k} divides SAS_{A}.

Find the largest possible value of TAT_{A}.

Let ABCA B C be an acute scalene triangle with circumcenter OO. Let DD be the foot of the altitude from AA to the side BCB C. The lines BCB C and AOA O intersect at EE. Let ss be the line through EE perpendicular to AOA O. The line ss intersects ABA B and ACA C at KK and LL, respectively. Denote by ω\omega the circumcircle of triangle AKLA K L. Line ADA D intersects ω\omega again at XX.

Prove that ω\omega and the circumcircles of triangles ABCA B C and DEXD E X have a common point.

Let MM be a subset of the set of 2021 integers {1,2,3,…,2021}\{1,2,3, \ldots, 2021\} such that for any three elements (not necessarily distinct) a,b,ca, b, c of MM we have ∣a+b−c∣>10|a+b-c|>10. Determine the largest possible number of elements of MM.
