A finite sequence of integers a0,a1,…,ana_0, a_1, \ldots, a_n is called quadratic if for each ii in the set {1,2…,n}\{1,2 \ldots, n\} we have the equality ∣ai−ai−1∣=i2.|a_i - a_{i-1}| = i^2.

a.) Prove that any two integers bb and c,c, there exists a natural number nn and a quadratic sequence with a0=ba_0 = b and an=c.a_n = c.

b.) Find the smallest natural number nn for which there exists a quadratic sequence with a0=0a_0 = 0 and an=1996.a_n = 1996.
