Problem 1

Let ABCA B C be a triangle with ∠BAC>90∘\angle B A C>90^{\circ}. Let DD be a point on the segment BCB C and EE be a point on the line ADA D such that ABA B is tangent to the circumcircle of triangle ACDA C D at AA and BEB E is perpendicular to ADA D. Given that CA=CDC A=C D and AE=CEA E=C E, determine ∠BCA\angle B C A in degrees.

Problem 2

Let A1B1C1D1E1A_{1} B_{1} C_{1} D_{1} E_{1} be a regular pentagon. For 2≤n≤112 \leq n \leq 11,

let AnBnCnDnEnA_{n} B_{n} C_{n} D_{n} E_{n} be the pentagon whose vertices are the midpoints of the sides of the pentagon An−1Bn−1Cn−1Dn−1En−1A_{n-1} B_{n-1} C_{n-1} D_{n-1} E_{n-1}. All the 5 vertices of each of the 11 pentagons are arbitrarily coloured red or blue. Prove that four points among these 55 points have the same colour and form the vertices of a cyclic quadrilateral.

Problem 3

Let m,nm, n be distinct positive integers. Prove that

gcd⁡(m,n)+gcd⁡(m+1,n+1)+gcd⁡(m+2,n+2)≤2∣m−n∣+1\operatorname{gcd}(m, n)+\operatorname{gcd}(m+1, n+1)+\operatorname{gcd}(m+2, n+2) \leq 2|m-n|+1

Further, determine when equality holds.

Problem 4

Let nn and MM be positive integers such that M>nn−1M>n^{n-1}. Prove that there are nn distinct primes p1,p2,p3,…,pnp_{1}, p_{2}, p_{3}, \ldots, p_{n} such that pjp_{j} divides M+jM+j for 1≤j≤n1 \leq j \leq n.

Problem 5

Let ABA B be a diameter of a circle Γ\Gamma and let CC be a point on Γ\Gamma different from AA and BB. Let DD be the foot of perpendicular from CC on to ABA B. Let KK be a point of the segment CDC D such that ACA C is equal to the semiperimeter of the triangle ADKA D K. Show that the excircle of triangle ADKA D K opposite AA is tangent to Γ\Gamma.

Problem 6

Let ff be function defined from the set {(x,y):x,y\{(x, y): x, y reals, xy≠0}x y \neq 0\} in to the set of all positive real numbers such that

(i) f(xy,z)=f(x,z)f(y,z)f(x y, z)=f(x, z) f(y, z), for all x,y≠0x, y \neq 0;

(ii) f(x,yz)=f(x,y)f(x,z)f(x, y z)=f(x, y) f(x, z), for all x,y≠0x, y \neq 0;

(iii) f(x,1−x)=1f(x, 1-x)=1, for all x≠0,1x \neq 0,1.

Prove that

(a) f(x,x)=f(x,−x)=1f(x, x)=f(x,-x)=1, for all x≠0x \neq 0;

(b) f(x,y)f(y,x)=1f(x, y) f(y, x)=1, for all x,y≠0x, y \neq 0.
