Other problems

Problem 1

Let GG be the centroid of the triangle ABCABC in which the angle at CC is obtuse and ADAD and CFCF be the medians from AA and CC respectively onto the sides BCBC and ABAB . If the points  B, D, G\ B,\ D, \ G and  F\ F are concyclic, show that ACBC≥2\dfrac{AC}{BC} \geq \sqrt{2} . If further PP is a point on the line BGBG extended such that AGCPAGCP is a parallelogram, show that triangle ABCABC and GAPGAP are similar.

Problem 2

If x5−x3+x=a,x^5 - x ^3 + x = a, prove that x6≥2a−1x^6 \geq 2a - 1 .

Problem 3

In any set of 181181 square integers, prove that one can always find a subset of 1919 numbers, sum of whose elements is divisible by 1919 .

Problem 4

Find the number of nondegenerate triangles whose vertices lie in the set of points (s,t)(s,t) in the plane such that 0≤s≤40 \leq s \leq 4 , 0≤t≤40 \leq t \leq 4 , ss and tt are integers.

Problem 5

A circle passes through the vertex of a rectangle ABCDABCD and touches its sides ABAB and ADAD at MM and NN respectively. If the distance from CC to the line segment MNMN is equal to 55 units, find the area of rectangle ABCDABCD .
