    Let J⊊I⊆RJ \subsetneq I \subseteq \mathbb{R} be non-empty open intervals, and let f1f_1, f2f_2, …\ldots be real polynomials satisfying the following conditions:

    • fi(x)≥0f_i(x) \geq 0 for all i≥1i \geq 1 and x∈Ix \in I,
    • ∑i=1∞fi(x)\sum_{i=1}^\infty f_i(x) is finite for all x∈Ix \in I,
    • ∑i=1∞fi(x)=1\sum_{i=1}^\infty f_i(x)=1 for all x∈Jx \in J. Do these conditions imply that ∑i=1∞fi(x)=1\sum_{i=1}^\infty f_i(x)=1 also for all x∈Ix \in I?
