Let pp be a prime number and kk a positive integer. Let t=∑j=0∞⌊kpj⌋.t=\sum_{j=0}^{\infty} \left\lfloor\frac{k}{p^j}\right\rfloor. a)a) Let f(x)f(x) be a polynomial of degree kk with integer coefficients such that its leading coefficient is 1 and its constant is divisible by pp. Prove that there exists n∈Nn\in \mathbb{N} for which p∣f(n)p\mid f(n), but pt+1∤f(n)p^{t+1}\nmid f(n). b)b) Prove that the statement above is sharp, i.e. there exists polynomial g(x)g(x) of degree kk, integer coefficients, leading coefficient 1 and constant divisible by pp such that if p∣g(n)p\mid g(n) is true for a certain n∈Nn\in \mathbb{N}, then pt∣g(n)p^t\mid g(n) also holds.
