  • Answer

A polynomial P(x)P(x) is a base-n polynomial if it is of the form adxd+ad−1xd−1+⋯+a1x+a0a_{d} x^{d}+a_{d-1} x^{d-1}+\cdots+a_{1} x+a_{0}, where each aia_{i} is an integer between 0 and n−1n-1 inclusive and ad>0a_{d}>0. Find the largest positive integer nn such that for any real number cc, there exists at most one base- nn polynomial P(x)P(x) for which P(2+3)=cP(\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{3})=c.
