Problem 1

Cookie Monster says a positive integer nn is crunchycrunchy if there exist 2n2n real numbers x1,x2,…,x2nx_1,x_2,\ldots,x_{2n} , not all equal, such that the sum of any nn of the xix_i 's is equal to the product of the other nn of the xix_i 's. Help Cookie Monster determine all crunchy integers.

Problem 2

Oscar is drawing diagrams with trash can lids and sticks. He draws a triangle ABCABC and a point DD such that DBDB and DCDC are tangent to the circumcircle of ABCABC . Let B′B' be the reflection of BB over ACAC and C′C' be the reflection of CC over ABAB . If OO is the circumcenter of DB′C′DB'C' , help Oscar prove that AOAO is perpendicular to BCBC .

Problem 3

In a Cartesian coordinate plane, call a rectangle standardstandard if all of its sides are parallel to the xx - and yy - axes, and call a set of points nicenice if no two of them have the same xx - or yy - coordinate. First, Bert chooses a nice set BB of 20162016 points in the coordinate plane. To mess with Bert, Ernie then chooses a set EE of nn points in the coordinate plane such that B∪EB\cup E is a nice set with 2016+n2016+n points. Bert returns and then miraculously notices that there does not exist a standard rectangle that contains at least two points in BB and no points in EE in its interior. For a given nice set BB that Bert chooses, define f(B)f(B) as the smallest positive integer nn such that Ernie can find a nice set EE of size nn with the aforementioned properties. Help Bert determine the minimum and maximum possible values of f(B)f(B) .

Problem 4

Big Bird has a polynomial PP with integer coefficients such that nn divides P(2n)P(2^n) for every positive integer nn . Prove that Big Bird's polynomial must be the zero polynomial.

Problem 5

Elmo is drawing with colored chalk on a sidewalk outside. He first marks a set SS of n>1n>1 collinear points. Then, for every unordered pair of points {X,Y}\{X,Y\} in SS , Elmo draws the circle with diameter XYXY so that each pair of circles which intersect at two distinct points are drawn in different colors. Count von Count then wishes to count the number of colors Elmo used. In terms of nn , what is the minimum number of colors Elmo could have used?

Problem 6

Elmo is now learning olympiad geometry. In triangle ABCABC with AB≠ACAB\neq AC , let its incircle be tangent to sides BCBC , CACA , and ABAB at DD , EE , and FF , respectively. The internal angle bisector of ∠BAC\angle BAC intersects lines DEDE and DFDF at XX and YY , respectively. Let SS and TT be distinct points on side BCBC such that ∠XSY=∠XTY=90∘\angle XSY=\angle XTY=90^\circ . Finally, let γ\gamma be the circumcircle of △AST\triangle AST .

(a) Help Elmo show that γ\gamma is tangent to the circumcircle of △ABC\triangle ABC .

(b) Help Elmo show that γ\gamma is tangent to the incircle of △ABC\triangle ABC .
