EGMO 2026 Problem 6

  • Day 2

Let pp be a prime number and let nn be a positive integer such that pp does not divide nn. Denote by kk the number of positive divisors of nn, and by 1=d1<d2<⋯<dk=n1 = d_1 < d_2 < \cdots < d_k = n the positive divisors of nn. For i=1,2,…,ki = 1, 2, \ldots, k, let cic_i be the number of positive divisors ℓ\ell of di2d_i^2 such that di−ℓd_i - \ell is divisible by pp. Prove that

(p−1)(c1+c2+⋯+ck)≥k2.(p-1)(c_1 + c_2 + \cdots + c_k) \geq k^2.
