Problem 1

In the figure, triangle ADEADE is produced from triangle ABCABC by a rotation by 90o90^o about the point AA . If angle DD is 60o60^o and angle EE is 40o40^o , how large is then angle uu ? Image

Problem 2

Solve the system of equations {1x+y+x=3xx+y=2\begin{cases} \dfrac{1}{x+y}+ x = 3 \dfrac{x}{x+y}=2 \end{cases}

Problem 3

Georg has bought lots of filled chocolates for a party, and when he counts how many he has, he discovers that the number is a prime number. He distributes so many of the chocolates as possible on 6060 trays with an equal number on each. He notes then that he has more than one piece left and that the number left pieces is not a prime number. How many pieces of chocolate does Georg have left?

Problem 4

Let EE be an arbitrary point different from AA and BB on the side ABAB of a square ABCDABCD , and let FF and GG be points on the segment CECE so that BFBF and DGDG are perpendicular to CECE . Prove that DF=AGDF = AG .

Problem 5

Imagine a square scheme consisting of n×nn\times n fields with edge length 11 , where nn is an arbitrary positive integer. What is the maximum possible length of a route you can follow along the edges of the fields from point AA in the lower left corner to point BB in the upper right corner if you must never return to one point where you have been before? (The figure shows for n=5n = 5 an example of a permitted route and an example of a not permitted route). Image
