Problem 1

Define a sequence (an)(a_n) by a0=−4,a1=−7a_0 =-4 , a_1 =-7 and an+2=5an+1−6ana_{n+2}= 5a_{n+1} -6a_n for n≥0.n\geq 0. Prove that there are infinitely many positive integers nn such that ana_n is composite.

Problem 2

Find the maximal number of edges a connected graph GG with nn vertices may have, so that after deleting an arbitrary cycle, GG is not connected anymore.

Problem 3

Let ABCABC a triangle and kk a circle such that: (1) The circle kk passes through AA and BB and touches the line AC.AC. (2) The tangent to kk at BB intersects the line ACAC in a point X≠C.X\ne C. (3) The circumcircle ω\omega of BXCBXC intersects kk in a point Q≠B.Q\ne B. (4) The tangent to ω\omega at XX intersects the line ABAB in a point Y.Y. Prove that the line XYXY is tangent to the circumcircle of BQY.BQY.

Problem 4

Let a,ba,b be positive real numbers and n≥2n\geq 2 a positive integer. Prove that if xn≤ax+bx^n \leq ax+b holds for a positive real number xx , then it also satisfies the inequality x<2an−1+2bn.x < \sqrt[n-1]{2a} + \sqrt[n]{2b}.

Problem 5

Let a,ba,b be the lengths of two nonadjacent edges of a tetrahedron with inradius rr . Prove that r<ab2(a+b).r<\frac{ab}{2(a+b)}.

Problem 6

Let a1a_1 and a2a_2 be postive real numbers. Let an+2=1+an+1ana_{n+2}=1+\frac{a_{n+1}}{a_{n}} Prove that ∣a2012−2∣<10−200|a_{2012}-2|<10^{-200}
