Other problems

Problem 1

There are 100100 diamonds on the pile, 5050 of which are genuine and 5050 false. We invited a peculiar expert who alone can recognize which are which. Every time we show him some three diamonds, he would pick two and tell (truthfully) how many of them are genuine . Decide whether we can surely detect all genuine diamonds regardless how the expert chooses the pairs to be considered.

Problem 2

Find all pairs of real numbers k,lk, l such that inequality ka2+lb2>c2ka^2 + lb^2> c^2 applies to the lengths of sides a,b,ca, b, c of any triangle.

Problem 3

Find all functions f:R→Rf: R \to R such that for all real numbers x,yx, y holds f(y−xy)=f(x)y+(x−1)2f(y)f(y - xy) = f(x)y + (x - 1)^2 f(y)

Problem 4

For each sequence of nn zeros and nn units, we assign a number that is a number sections of the same digits in it. (For example, sequence 0011100100111001 has 44 such sections 00,111,00,100, 111,00, 1 .) For a given nn we sum up all the numbers assigned to each such sequence. Prove that the sum total is equal to (n+1)(2nn)(n+1){2n \choose n}

Problem 5

Given is the acute triangle ABCABC with the intersection of altitudes HH . The angle bisector of angle BHCBHC intersects side BCBC at point DD . Mark EE and FF the symmetrics of the point DD wrt lines ABAB and ACAC . Prove that the circle circumscribed around the triangle AEFAEF passes through the midpoint of the arc BACBAC

Problem 6

Given is a nonzero integer kk . Prove that equation k=x2−xy+2y2x+yk =\frac{x^2 - xy + 2y^2}{x + y} has an odd number of ordered integer pairs (x,y)(x, y) just when kk is divisible by seven.
