Other problems

Problem 1

Let abcd‾\overline{abcd} be one of the 9999 numbers 0001,0002,0003,…,9998,99990001, 0002, 0003, \ldots, 9998, 9999 . Let abcd‾\overline{abcd} be an special number if ab−cdab-cd and ab+cdab+cd are perfect squares, ab−cdab-cd divides ab+cdab+cd and also ab+cdab+cd divides abcdabcd . For example 2016 is special. Find all the abcd‾\overline{abcd} special numbers.Note: If abcd‾=0206\overline{abcd}=0206 , then ab=02ab=02 and cd=06cd=06 .

Problem 2

For every k=1,2,…k= 1,2, \ldots let sks_k be the number of pairs (x,y)(x,y) satisfying the equation kx+(k+1)y=1001−kkx + (k+1)y = 1001 - k with xx , yy non-negative integers. Find s1+s2+⋯+s200s_1 + s_2 + \cdots + s_{200} .

Problem 3

There are 20162016 positions marked around a circle, with a token on one of them. A legitimate move is to move the token either 1 position or 4 positions from its location, clockwise. The restriction is that the token can not occupy the same position more than once. Players AA and BB take turns making moves. Player AA has the first move. The first player who cannot make a legitimate move loses. Determine which of the two players has a winning strategy.

Problem 4

Let S(n)S(n) be the sum of the digits of the positive integer nn . Find all nn such that S(n)(S(n)−1)=n−1S(n)(S(n)-1)=n-1 .

Problem 5

Let ABCABC be a triangle inscribed on a circle with center OO . Let DD and EE be points on the sides ABAB and BCBC ,respectively, such that AD=DE=ECAD = DE = EC . Let XX be the intersection of the angle bisectors of ∠ADE\angle ADE and ∠DEC\angle DEC . If X≠OX \neq O , show that, the lines OXOX and DEDE are perpendicular.

Problem 6

We say that three different integers are friendly if one of them divides the product of the other two. Let nn be a positive integer.

a) Show that, between n2n^2 and n2+nn^2+n , exclusive, does not exist any triplet of friendly numbers.

b) Determine if for each nn exists a triplet of friendly numbers between n2n^2 and n2+n+3nn^2+n+3\sqrt{n} , exclusive.
