Problem 1

A positive integer mm is called good if there is a positive integer nn such that mm is the quotient of nn by the number of positive integer divisors of nn (including 11 and nn itself). Prove that 1,2,…,171, 2, \ldots, 17 are good numbers and that 1818 is not a good number.

Problem 2

Let ABCABC be an acute triangle. Points DD , EE , and FF lie on segments BCBC , CACA , and ABAB , respectively, and each of the three segments ADAD , BEBE , and CFCF contains the circumcenter of ABCABC . Prove that if any two of the ratios BDDC\frac{BD}{DC} , CEEA\frac{CE}{EA} , AFFB\frac{AF}{FB} , BFFA\frac{BF}{FA} , AEEC\frac{AE}{EC} , CDDB\frac{CD}{DB} are integers, then triangle ABCABC is isosceles.

Problem 3

Let nn be an integer greater than 33 , and let a1,a2,⋯ ,ana_1, a_2, \cdots, a_n be non-negative real numbers with a1+a2+⋯+an=2a_1 + a_2 + \cdots + a_n = 2 . Determine the minimum value of a1a22+1+a2a32+1+⋯+ana12+1.\frac{a_1}{a_2^2 + 1}+ \frac{a_2}{a^2_3 + 1}+ \cdots + \frac{a_n}{a^2_1 + 1}.

Problem 4

The set SS consists of n>2n > 2 points in the plane. The set PP consists of mm lines in the plane such that every line in PP is an axis of symmetry for SS . Prove that m≤nm\leq n , and determine when equality holds.

Problem 5

Point DD lies inside triangle ABCABC such that ∠DAC=∠DCA=30∘\angle DAC = \angle DCA = 30^{\circ} and ∠DBA=60∘\angle DBA = 60^{\circ} . Point EE is the midpoint of segment BCBC . Point FF lies on segment ACAC with AF=2FCAF = 2FC . Prove that DE⊥EFDE \perp EF .

Problem 6

For a,b,c≥0a,b,c\geq 0 with a+b+c=1a+b+c=1 , prove that

a+(b−c)24+b+c≤3\sqrt{a+\frac{(b-c)^2}{4}}+\sqrt{b}+\sqrt{c}\leq \sqrt{3}

Problem 8

In a round robin chess tournament each player plays every other player exactly once. The winner of each game gets 11 point and the loser gets 00 points. If the game is tied, each player gets 0.50.5 points. Given a positive integer mm , a tournament is said to have property P(m)P(m) if the following holds: among every set SS of mm players, there is one player who won all her games against the other m−1m-1 players in SS and one player who lost all her games against the other m−1m - 1 players in SS . For a given integer m≥4m \ge 4 , determine the minimum value of nn (as a function of mm ) such that the following holds: in every nn -player round robin chess tournament with property P(m)P(m) , the final scores of the nn players are all distinct.
