Problem 1

At a party every woman dances with at least one man, and no man dances with every woman. Show that there are men M and M' and women W and W' such that M dances with W, M' dances with W', but M does not dance with W', and M' does not dance with W.

Problem 2

PP is a point inside the triangle ABCABC . The line through PP parallel to ABAB meets ACAC A0A_0 and BCBC at B0B_0 . Similarly, the line through PP parallel to CACA meets ABAB at A1A_1 and BCBC at C1C_1 , and the line through P parallel to BC meets ABAB at B2B_2 and ACAC at C2C_2 . Find the point PP such that A0B0=A1B1=A2C2A_0B_0 = A_1B_1 = A_2C_2 .

Problem 3

Given k>0k > 0 , the sequence ana_n is defined by its first two members and an+2=an+1+knana_{n+2} = a_{n+1} + \frac{k}{n}a_n a)For which kk can we write ana_n as a polynomial in nn ?

b) For which kk can we write an+1an=p(n)q(n)\frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n} = \frac{p(n)}{q(n)} ? ( p,qp,q are polynomials in R[X]\mathbb R[X] ).

Problem 4

Show that there exists n>2n>2 such that 1991∣1999…911991 | 1999 \ldots 91 (with nn 9's).
