Problem 1

Five points are given in space, no four of which are coplanar. Each of the segments connecting two of them is painted in white, green or red, so that all the colors are used and no three segments of the same color form a triangle. Prove that among these five points there is one at which segments of all the three colors meet.

Problem 2

Let ABCABC be a triangle such that the altitude CHCH and the sides CA,CBCA,CB are respectively equal to a side and two distinct diagonals of a regular heptagon. Prove that ∠ACB<120∘\angle ACB<120^\circ .

Problem 3

A quadrilateral pyramid is cut by a plane parallel to the base. Suppose that a sphere SS is circumscribed and a sphere Σ\Sigma inscribed in the obtained solid, and moreover that the line through the centers of these two spheres is perpendicular to the base of the pyramid. Show that the pyramid is regular.

Problem 4

Let nn be an odd positive integer. Prove that if the equation 1x+1y=4n\frac1x+\frac1y=\frac4n has a solution in positive integers x,yx,y , then nn has at least one divisor of the form 4k−14k-1 , k∈Nk\in\mathbb N .

Problem 5

Find all positive values of aa , for which there is a number bb such that the parabola y=ax2−by=ax^2-b intersects the unit circle at four distinct points. Also prove that for every such a there exists bb such that the parabola y=ax2−by=ax^2-b intersects the unit circle at four distinct points whose xx -coordinates form an arithmetic progression.

Problem 6

Planes α,β,γ,δ\alpha,\beta,\gamma,\delta are tangent to the circumsphere of a tetrahedron ABCDABCD at points A,B,C,DA,B,C,D , respectively. Line pp is the intersection of α\alpha and β\beta , and line qq is the intersection of γ\gamma and δ\delta . Prove that if lines pp and CDCD meet, then lines qq and ABAB lie on a plane.
