Problem 2

Points P,Q,R,SP,Q,R,S are taken on respective edges ACAC , ABAB , BDBD , and CDCD of a tetrahedron ABCDABCD so that PRPR and QSQS intersect at point NN and PSPS and QRQR intersect at point MM . The line MNMN meets the plane ABCABC at point LL . Prove that the lines ALAL , BPBP , and CQCQ are concurrent.

Problem 3

Each side of a triangle ABCABC has been divided into n+1n+1 equal parts. Find the number of triangles with the vertices at the division points having no side parallel to or lying at a side of △ABC\triangle ABC .

Problem 4

For each real number kk , denote by f(k)f(k) the larger of the two roots of the quadratic equation (k2+1)x2+10kx−6(9k2+1)=0.(k^2+1)x^2+10kx-6(9k^2+1)=0. Show that the function f(k)f(k) attains a minimum and maximum and evaluate these two values.

Problem 5

A convex pentagon ABCDEABCDE satisfies AB=BC=CAAB=BC=CA and CD=DE=ECCD=DE=EC . Let SS be the center of the equilateral triangle ABCABC and MM and NN be the midpoints of BDBD and AEAE , respectively. Prove that the triangles SMESME and SNDSND are similar.

Problem 6

The set M={1,2,…,2n} (n≥2)M=\{1,2,\ldots,2n\}~(n\ge2) is partitioned into kk nonintersecting subsets M1,M2,…,MkM_1,M_2,\ldots,M_k , where k3+1≤nk^3+1\le n . Prove that there exist k+1k+1 even numbers 2j1,2j2,…,2jk+12j_1,2j_2,\ldots,2j_{k+1} in MM that are in one and the same subset MjM_j (1≤j≤k)(1\le j\le k) such that the numbers 2j1−1,2j2−1,…,2jk+1−12j_1-1,2j_2-1,\ldots,2j_{k+1}-1 are also in one and the same subset MrM_r (1≤r≤k)(1\le r\le k) .
