BALTIC-WAY 2008 Problem 18

  • Answer

Let ABA B be a diameter of a circle SS, and let LL be the tangent at AA. Furthermore, let cc be a fixed, positive real, and consider all pairs of points XX and YY lying on LL, on opposite sides of AA, such that ∣AX∣⋅∣AY∣=c|A X| \cdot|A Y|=c. The lines BXB X and BYB Y intersect SS at points PP and QQ, respectively. Show that all the lines PQP Q pass through a common point.
