Problem 1

  • Paper

An integer n>1n > 1 is called good if there exists a permutation a1,a2,a3,…,ana_{1},a_{2},a_{3},\ldots ,a_{n} of the numbers 1,2,3,…,n1,2,3,\ldots ,n , such that:

  • aia_{i} and ai+1a_{i + 1} have different parities for every 1⩽i⩽n−11 \leqslant i \leqslant n - 1 ;

  • the sum a1+a2+⋯+aka_{1} + a_{2} + \dots + a_{k} is a quadratic residue modulo nn for every 1⩽k⩽n1 \leqslant k \leqslant n .

Prove that there exist infinitely many good numbers, as well as infinitely many positive integers which are not good.

Remark: Here an integer xx is considered a quadratic residue modulo nn if there exists an integer yy such that x≡y2(modn)x \equiv y^{2} \pmod {n} .

Let △ABC\triangle ABC be an acute- angled triangle with orthocentre HH and let DD be an arbitrary interior point on side BCBC . Suppose EE and FF are points on the segments ABAB and ACAC respectively such that the quadrilaterals ABDFABDF and ACDEACDE are cyclic, and let BFBF and CECE intersect at PP . Let LL be the point of line HAHA such that LCLC is tangent to the circumcircle of triangle △PBC\triangle PBC at point CC . Let lines BHBH and CPCP intersect at XX . Prove that D,LD, L and XX are collinear.

Find all functions f:R→Rf: \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R} such that, for all real numbers xx and yy,

f(x+yf(x))+y=xy+f(x+y).f(x + y f(x)) + y = x y + f(x + y).

There are nn cities in a country, where n⩾100n \geqslant 100 is an integer. Some pairs of cities are connected by direct (two- way) flights. For two cities AA and BB we define:

  • a path between AA and BB as a sequence of distinct cities A=C0,C1,…,Ck,Ck+1=BA = C_{0}, C_{1}, \ldots , C_{k}, C_{k + 1} = B , k⩾0k \geqslant 0 , such that there are direct flights between CiC_{i} and Ci+1C_{i + 1} for every 0⩽i⩽k0 \leqslant i \leqslant k ;- a long path between AA and BB as a path between AA and BB such that no other path between AA and BB has more cities;- a short path between AA and BB as a path between AA and BB such that no other path between AA and BB has fewer cities.

Assume that for any pair of cities AA and BB in the country, there exist a long path and a short path between them that have no cities in common (except AA and BB ). Let FF be the total number of pairs of cities in the country that are connected by direct flights. In terms of nn , find all possible values of FF .
