Problem 1

  • Paper

Let ABCA B C be an acute-angled triangle with AC>ABA C>A B and let DD be the foot of the AA-angle bisector on BCB C. The reflections of lines ABA B and ACA C in line BCB C meet ACA C and ABA B at points EE and FF respectively. A line through DD meets ACA C and ABA B at GG and HH respectively such that GG lies strictly between AA and CC while HH lies strictly between BB and FF. Prove that the circumcircles of △EDG\triangle E D G and △FDH\triangle F D H are tangent to each other.

Let n≥k≥3n \geq k \geq 3 be integers. Show that for every integer sequence 1≤a1<a2<…<1 \leq a_{1}<a_{2}<\ldots< ak≤na_{k} \leq n one can choose non-negative integers b1,b2,…,bkb_{1}, b_{2}, \ldots, b_{k}, satisfying the following conditions: (i) 0≤bi≤n0 \leq b_{i} \leq n for each 1≤i≤k1 \leq i \leq k, (ii) all the positive bib_{i} are distinct, (iii) the sums ai+bi,1≤i≤ka_{i}+b_{i}, 1 \leq i \leq k, form a permutation of the first kk terms of a non-constant arithmetic progression.

Let R+=(0,∞)\mathbb{R}^{+}=(0, \infty) be the set of all positive real numbers. Find all functions f:R+→R+f: \mathbb{R}^{+} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{+} and polynomials P(x)P(x) with non-negative real coefficients such that P(0)=0P(0)=0 which satisfy the equality

f(f(x)+P(y))=f(x−y)+2yf(f(x)+P(y))=f(x-y)+2 y

for all real numbers x>y>0x>y>0.
