Problem 1

Show that (∑i=1nxiyizi)2≤(∑i=1nxi3)(∑i=1nyi3)(∑i=1nzi3)(\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_iy_iz_i)^2 \le (\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_i^3) (\sum_{i=1}^{n}y_i^3) (\sum_{i=1}^{n}z_i^3) for any positive reals xi,yi,zix_i, y_i, z_i .

Problem 2

Each point of the plane is colored by one of the two colors. Show that there exists an equilateral triangle with monochromatic vertices.

Problem 3

Find all natural numbers NN (in decimal system) with the following properties: (i) N=aabb‾N =\overline{aabb} , where aab‾\overline{aab} and abb‾\overline{abb} are primes, (ii) N=P1P2P3N = P_1P_2P_3 , where Pk(k=1,2,3)P_k (k = 1,2,3) is a prime consisting of kk (decimal) digits.

Problem 4

Let PP be a convex polygon in the plane. Show that there exists a circle containing the entire polygon PP and having at least three adjacent vertices of PP on its boundary.

Problem 5

Let AA be a vertex of a cube ω\omega circumscribed about a sphere kk of radius 11 . We consider lines gg through AA containing at least one point of kk . Let PP be the intersection point of gg and kk closer to AA , and QQ be the second intersection point of gg and ω\omega . Determine the maximum value of AP⋅AQAP\cdot AQ and characterize the lines gg yielding the maximum.

Problem 6

A sequence (an)n∈N(a_n)_{n \in N} of squares of nonzero integers is such that for each nn the difference an+1−ana_{n+1} - a_n is a prime or the square of a prime. Show that all such sequences are finite and determine the longest sequence.

Problem 7

Functions f0,f1,f2,...f_0, f_1,f_2,... are recursively defined by f0(x)=xf_0(x) = x and f2k+1(x)=3f2k(x)f_{2k+1} (x) = 3^{f_{2k}(x)} and f2k+2=2f2k+1(x)f_{2k+2} = 2^{f_{2k+1}(x)} , k=0,1,2,...k = 0,1,2,... for all x∈Rx \in R . Find the greater one of the numbers f10(1)f_{10}(1) and f9(2)f_9(2) .

Problem 8

ABCABC is an acute-angled triangle and PP a point inside or on the boundary. The feet of the perpendiculars from PP to BC,CA,ABBC, CA, AB are A′,B′,C′A', B', C' respectively. Show that if ABCABC is equilateral, then AC′+BA′+CB′PA′+PB′+PC′\frac{AC'+BA'+CB'}{PA'+PB'+PC'} is the same for all positions of PP , but that for any other triangle it is not.

Problem 9

Find the smallest odd natural number NN such that N2N^2 is the sum of an odd number (greater than 11 ) of squares of adjacent positive integers.
